 I am just starting my process of revisions. I have a lot of work ahead of me, but I am glad to have lots of resources to help me reach a successful end result. Using the Peer Review and Dr. B's revisions, I know what direction I need to take my proposal in. I have never written a research proposal before, so I have been learning as I go. I will be honest, I still do not have a clear idea of exactly where I plan to take my proposal. I have a lot of information, but I have been struggling to narrow it down into a concise plan. My goal for the next week is to focus my attention on specifics. I have a general idea of what I want my proposal to include, but I still need to nail down the details.

    Even though you've been struggling, it's great that you have a better idea of where to take your proposal. I'm sure Dr. B can help you narrow it down and find your research path.

 I believe for my topic I will be looking into the legal writing of Roe v. Wade from a postmodern standpoint. My goal within this research is to better understand the original implications of the Supreme Court documents. Roe v. Wade is one of the most controversial cases of modern times.       Although my major is Professional and Technical Writing, it is not my career plan. I am planning to attend law school in the fall of 2027. I chose this major because I believed that it would help me prepare to write legal documents, grants, and proposals. I understand that my talents as a writer are likely to give me advantages throughout my career as an attorney. With this in mind, I would like my topic for this class to surround legal documents in some capacity. I think I will begin by diving into the writing of case briefs as a way to introduce myself to the language. I am not positive that this will lead me directly to my topic, but I believe that it will give me a great starting point. Once I have given some time to briefs, I plan to look into the writing of motions, petitions, & NDA's. My plan is to look at multiple formats of legal language until I find the one that interests me the most.

   For my research proposal, I will likely be focusing on a gap in implication. My literary review discussed the relationship between rhetoric and legal writing. I focused specifically on the case of Roe v. Wade.  I want to direct my research on the role that rhetorical techniques can have in law making. I feel that the connection between rhetoric and legal writing is missing a logical connection. My goal in focusing on gap in implication is to bridge a connection between the two elements. I intend to look into other cases where  rhetoric has helped legal writers cement their ideas into law.
